Location

The Democratic Republic of Congo is located near the western coast of Africa, and is surrounded by seven other countries. These are (in clockwise order) the Central African Republic, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Angola, the Republic of Congo (not to be confused with the Democratic Republic of Congo), and it is separated from Tanzania by Lake Tanganyika.

Rainforest in Congo

Half of the land area of the Democratic Republic of Congo is half rainforest, as is shown in the adjacent map. Unfortunately, human intervention through methods such as deforestation and hunting is causing this area to rapidly decrease in size.
